Thank you for your comment! I checked into it as you suggested, and you are indeed correct. Congratulations to Amazon and its California affiliates.

About the "(c) Amazon’s abrupt and unilateral decision to abandon its California-based Affiliates", Amazon actually put it all back now, but not everybody knows about it. One also has to login into the amazon associate account and re-enable program participation.

By default, contacts on Android devices will sync to/from Gmail automatically. Not so with Zoho. New contacts that you create on the phone will stay on the phone, and new contacts in Zoho will not appear on the phone. Zoho have created a workaround that uses Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync® protocol http://mobilesync.wiki.zoho.com/android.html However, at least with my device, this workaround burned through my battery extremely rapidly.
I have found Zoho support to be very responsive, so you might try a help ticket. Good luck. If a solution exists, they will tell you, but if it's a feature request, don't hold your breath.

Oh noes! I am also using Android. I'm not really sure what you mean by contact sync? After some trial and error I settled for the "K9 Mail" app synced with IMAP. Seems to work good so far. But thanks for your input.

Losing my old conversations is a real bummer though. I wonder if there is a technical reason why they can't offer that.

As for alternatives: I was playing with Hotmail for a few days. Their web interface is pretty good if you put in a few minutes to customize it. The lack of IMAP support and utter uselessness of the "Hotmail Connector for Outlook" were dealbreakers for me because it kept me from importing my email archive. There are several threads on HackerNews discussing self-hosted solutions and ensuring correct delivery of you outgoing mail seems to be the hardest issue.

I have not found a way to reconstruct imported conversations in Zoho Mail - the best I could manage was to set up filters. Zoho's poor Android support (Exchange contact sync was burning through my battery in just a couple hours) has led me to abandon Zoho Mail. I am currently searching for a suitable replacement. Perhaps a self-hosted solution.

Hi, I am doing the Gmail to Zoho Mail migration right now (here's why: http://neubertify.tumblr.com/post/17218441386/why-i-stopped-using-gmail) and was wondering if you came across this problem: Zoho does support a conversation view, but all emails imported from Gmail are not sorted into conversations. Did you find a way to reconstruct these conversations?
